Massage may help improve circulation and encourage healthy fluid movement, which can reduce mild swelling in the hands, feet, and legs. However, sudden or severe swelling should always be discussed with your healthcare provider.

The ideal frequency depends on your needs. Many clients benefit from a massage every 4–6 weeks during the early stages of pregnancy and every 2–4 weeks—or even weekly—as they approach their due date.

Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to change in and out of. During your massage, you'll be professionally draped at all times, with only the area being worked on exposed.

If you have certain pregnancy complications, such as severe preeclampsia, active bleeding, or other high-risk conditions, your healthcare provider may recommend postponing massage. If you're unsure, we're happy to discuss your situation before your appointment. A doctors note is always required for a high risk condition.
