Postpartum Massage
Postpartum massage focuses on restoration, warmth, and healing. Gentle abdominal massage with castor oil can help calm the nervous system, release tension in the ribcage, support the uterus in returning to its natural size, and nurture your healing tissues, including any stretch marks or scarring. Heat, nurturing touch, and deeply personalized care support your recovery and emotional well-being during this really memorable time.
FAQs

You can typically receive a postpartum massage as soon as you feel ready after a vaginal birth. If you had a Cesarean birth (C-section), it's best to wait until your healthcare provider has cleared you for massage, usually after your incision has healed. Commonly 4-6 weeks. Every recovery is unique, so we'll tailor your session to your comfort and stage of healing.
-
Postpartum massage can help relieve neck, shoulder, and back tension from feeding and carrying your baby, reduce muscle soreness, encourage relaxation, improve sleep, and provide much-needed time for self-care during recovery.

Yes! Massage is generally safe while breastfeeding. We use comfortable positioning with a pillow or special Body Cushion to accommodate tender breasts and your changing body. Staying hydrated before and after your massage is recommended.

Every session is customized, but many new moms request extra attention to the neck, shoulders, upper back, low back, and hips—areas that often become sore from feeding, holding, lifting, and caring for a newborn as well as recovery from the hard work of labor.
-
Once your healthcare provider has cleared you for massage and your incision has adequately healed, massage can be a wonderful way to reduce muscle tension and support your recovery. Direct work over the scar should only be performed when appropriate and after healing has progressed.
-
Many new mothers benefit from scheduling massages every 2–4 weeks during the first few months after birth, though your ideal schedule depends on your recovery, stress levels, and physical demands of caring for your baby.
-
We'll begin by discussing your birth experience if you feel like discussing, current symptoms, recovery, and goals for the session. Your massage will be fully customized to your comfort level, and you'll be supported with pillows and positioning that allow you to relax while addressing the areas that need the most attention.

Yes! You're welcome to bring your baby if needed. We understand that finding time for self-care with a newborn isn't always easy. If your baby is content in a car seat or bassinet while you enjoy your massage, we're happy to accommodate. Please keep in mind that your session may be interrupted if your baby needs to be fed, changed, or comforted. If possible, having another adult accompany you to care for your baby during your appointment can help you enjoy the most relaxing and uninterrupted experience.
